2003 VL800 Ann. 36K miles, $1825, east TN

$1825 – trades considered: Ninja 500R, Bandit 600, Katana 600, 750 Nighthawk. Something in the middle range standard or dual sport category for wife. I have moved up to Guzzi 1400 California.

This bike has been maintained and used, always with fresh oil, good plugs, adjusted valves, drive shaft lubed, fork oil and coolant replaced.

Retro styling, wide, sculpted fuel tank, deeply valanced fenders, spoked wheels, staggered dual chrome exhaust. Low 27.6-inch seat height, good comfy riding position. Rear pillion. 33-degree rake. Approximately 65-inch wheelbase. 16″ front (130/90-16), 15″ rear (170/80-15). Tank-mounted instrument panel. Analog speedometer, black on white easy read. Inset LCD fuel gauge and clock. Odometer and tripmeter are integrated into the LCD display, easy mode switching. Ignition and steering lock switch on right side of the steering stem. Very stable ride, can be pushed fairly hard, doesn’t have any particular faults all the way over to peg contact. Has been over the Dragon many times, one up and 2 up. Feels quite burley and rugged, handles gravel well. Very capable bike, easy to ride, will handle the Interstate OK. Decent acceleration, full throttle jumps out nicely, but isn’t scary.

34,600 miles, old ding in tank (came with it – looks like a garage drop), stock saddle (Mustang available), well maintained, fresh oil change, valve check at next oil change needed, Michelin Commander II tires with at least a summer’s worth of wear left, rejetted, stock exhaust. Runs very well, easy to ride.
